Why Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)?
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (often referred to simply as ‘PRP’) is an exciting, innovative treatment that harnesses the healing powers of the human body to rejuvenate, and bring a natural glow, to your skin and hair.
How it works
Often known as the ‘vampire facial’, PRP therapy utilises the healing powers found within your own blood. During treatment, a small extraction of your blood will be taken, before being placed into a centrifuge machine. The machine then ‘spins’ the blood, separating its PRP elements. These elements are the nutrients and compounds that promote cell production, and are regularly used in other schools of medicine to promote healing. These elements are then re-injected into the treatment area, promoting tissue healing and the production of new collagen.
PRP therapy rejuvenates your skin and hair, and gives a natural glow that the human body knows best how to provide. Treatment boosts collagen and stem cell production, targeting fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin tones, and giving your skin a youthful appearance. When injected into the scalp area, PRP therapy’s promotion of new cell growth serves as an effective, medicine-free treatment for hair loss; especially male- and female-pattern hair loss.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the results last?
Effects can last from 12-18 months and sometime even longer. At Brighton Beautiful we recommend maintenance treatments every 3-6 month to improve the longevity of your results.
Does it hurt?
Discomfort is minimal. However, if necessary, we are happy to apply a topic anaesthetic, which will numb the treatment area.
Are there any side effects?
There may be some minor swelling, redness and bruising at the injection site but this should quickly subside.
Is it safe?
Because PRP therapy uses natural materials taken from your body rather than any synthetic substances, treatment is completely safe. It is, in fact, used routinely in other areas of medicine, such as dentistry, urology, and neurosurgery.
