The treatment involves injecting a fat-dissolving substance into targeted areas, with the fat cells breaking down and being flushed out of the body through the lymphatic system. A low-frequency ultrasound device can also target the cell membranes (edges) through waves of pressure.
Deso fat dissolving can be carried out on areas of the face such as eye bags and double chin; arms, knees, thighs and bottom; back fat, stomach and ‘man boobs’; and even fatty lumps within the skin (lipomas).

An anaesthetic is used to keep discomfort to a minimum, however the treated area may feel sore and tender afterwards. Over-the-counter pain relief can help to manage this.
The fat needs time to be eliminated from the body, so while some patients experience results in a matter of days, in most cases, it takes around 6 weeks to see the finished results. However, results are permanent – though won’t prevent new areas of fat developing through age, diet and lifestyle factors.
Redness, swelling and tenderness is to be expected, but shouldn’t interfere with your day-to-day activities. Rarely, some patients also experience sensitivity, tingling or numbness, and skin irregularity may occur. Problems such as discolouration, allergic reactions and necrosis are extremely rare.
Jackie advises on only gently exercise in the first 4 weeks post-treatment, and suggests massaging the area to help the fat to drain away. As with most of our treatments, Jackie suggests avoiding heat treatments and staying sun-protected. Finally, a compression garment is strongly recommended, which Jackie can give guidance on.
