Profhilo

Our profhilo treatment forms a dual-pronged approach to your skin, working to firm and smooth away signs of ageing such as dryness, sagging skin and wrinkles. The results speak for themselves: a more youthful appearance.

Hydrated, healthy-looking skin

at Brighton Beautiful

Many patients think profhilo is a dermal filler, but it’s actually a hydrator and is made from hyaluronic acid – a natural moisturiser found in our bodies. Not only does treatment serve to boost hydration in the treated areas, but it also stimulates collagen and elastin production, which in turn lifts, tightens and smooths.

Collagen and elastin are key skin proteins that help form the structure under the skin, and keep it looking and feeling taut and ‘elastic’. As creation of these proteins decreases with age, aesthetic treatments can help restore the appearance by stimulating production once again.

Your questions answered

About Profhilo treatment

  • Does profhilo treatment hurt?

An anaesthetic can be used to numb the treated areas, helping prevent any pain or discomfort during the procedure, however discomfort is minimal with this treatment.

  • What can I expect from my results?

2 treatments are needed 4 weeks apart, with a top-up recommended every 9-12 months thereafter. Results are most noticeable after your second treatment, once new collagen and elastin has formed.

  • Are there any risks?

All injectable treatments come with a risk of swelling, redness and bruising, but these side-effects usually pass quickly. More serious side-effects and risks are rare.

  • Is there anything I should avoid?

Your skin may be more sensitive after treatment. As with most of our injectable treatments, Jackie suggests daily skincare, and avoiding exercise, alcohol and heat treatments for a period afterwards.

  • What other treatments could I try?

Other injectables, such as dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, could be of benefit. Jackie will highlight your options during your consultation, and make any suggestions and recommendations she feels will enhance your skin.
