Profhilo is a multi-award winning anti-ageing treatment. Collagen and elastin production is encouraged by a series of small injections containing a substance that hydrates your skin from the inside out. This amazing process is known as ‘bio-remodeling’ and results in rejuvenated skin with improved quality and texture.
How does it work?
Profhilo is not a filler, but a hydrator, consisting entirely of a stabilised form of Hyaluronic Acid – a substance that occurs naturally in youthful skin, but tends to decrease as we age. Over a period of four weeks, the substance boosts the hydration of the treatment area and enacts the process known as ‘bio-remodeling’, whereby the fresh production of collagen and elastin is stimulated.
Profhilo’s unique ability to lift and tighten sagging and ageing skin makes it the perfect treatment for dull, and dehydrated skin. The result is firmer, healthier, and smoother skin on the face, neck and décolletage. To ensure optimum results, a course of two treatments, carried out 4 weeks apart, is required. Results are subtle and gradual, and will be most noticeable four weeks after your second treatment, when elastin and collagen production is boosted.
Profhilo requires minimal-to-no downtime, meaning you can resume your day-to-day activities straight away. If you’re looking for a treatment for dull, sagging skin, why not contact us today for a Profhilo consultation?
Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments will I need?
For best results, it’s essential that you have two treatments, with a four-week interval in between. Some people notice a change after 4 weeks, but positive results will be most noticeable after your second treatment, when the production of fresh and collagen and elastin has been stimulated.
How long do the results of Profhilo last?
Results vary between individuals, but the effects of Profhilo treatment will usually last 4-6 months after your second treatment is completed. Treatment will need to be repeated every 9-12 months for results to be maintained.
Is this treatment safe?
Because profhilo consists entirely of a protein that occurs naturally within the body, there is very low risk of it being rejected by the skin and therefore treatment is safe.
Are there any side-effects?
You may experience some mild swelling and redness at the injection sites but these tend to resolve themselves within 1-2 days. You may experience some bruising, but this is rare.
Is treatment painful?
Discomfort is minimal, but if required, we can offer a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
